Abstract
A gas permeable or porous article of irregular configuration comprising a sintered structure of dispersion strengthened metal or metal alloy particles. The present invention also relates to a novel method for making such article.

A gas permeable or highly porous noncompacted article having a porosity of from 40% to 60% and a pore size less than 300 micrometers and being of irregular configuration comprising a sintered structure of dispersion strengthened metal or dispersion strengthened metal alloy particles.
A gas permeable or highly porous article having a porosity of from 40% to 60% and a pore size of from 15 to 300 micrometers and being of irregular configuration comprising a non-compacted sintered structure made from a mixture of a metal or metal alloy powder and refractory oxide in effective amount to inhibit shrinkage during sintering.
