Abstract
The optical contact objects contain a wettable, optionally crosslinked copolymer comprising the components N-vinylcarboxamide, (meth)acrylates of a polysiloxane and, optionally, vinyl monomers.
Claims13
Optical contact objects fabricated from wettable, optionally crosslinked copolymers of olefinically unsaturated monomers, wherein the copolymer contains as components
- (A) 4 to 55 parts by weight of an N-vinylcarboxamide of the formula ##STR14## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and denote hydrogen or lower alkyl,
- (B) 96 to 30 parts by weight of a (meth)acrylate of a polysiloxane, and, optionally
- (C) up to 66 parts by weight of a vinyl monomer.
Process for the preparation of optical contact objects, wherein
- (A) 4 to 55 parts by weight of an N-vinylcarboxamide of the formula ##STR20## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and denote hydrogen or lower alkyl,
- (B) 96 to 30 parts by weight of a (meth)acrylate or (meth)acrylates of a polysiloxane, and optionally,
- (C) up to 66 parts by weight of a vinyl monomer are polymerized in the presence of a radical initiator.
Use of wettable, optionally crosslinked copolymers containing as components
- (A) 4 to 55 parts by weight of an N-vinylcarboxamide of the formula ##STR21## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and denote hydrogen or lower alkyl,
- (B) 96 to 30 parts by weight of a (meth)acrylate or (meth)acrylates of a polysiloxane, and, optionally,
- (C) up to 66 parts by weight of a vinyl monomer for optical contact objects.
