Abstract
This invention relates to an electrophotographic photosensitive member utilizing a novel electrophotographic photosensitive material, more particularly to an electrophotographic photosensitive member endowed with high sensitivity as well as excellent potential stability during repeated copying by incorporating an azo pigment having a specific molecular structure in the photosensitive layer.
Claims10
An electrophotographic photosensitive member having a photosensitive layer on a substrate, said photosensitive layer comprising an azo pigment selected from those of the formulae (1) to (3):
- ##STR92## wherein A represents a coupler residue having a phenolic OH group, each of Ar.sub.11, Ar.sub.12, Ar.sub.21, Ar.sub.22, Ar.sub.23, Ar.sub.24, Ar.sub.31, Ar.sub.32 and Ar.sub.33 represents a phenylene group, a divalent polycyclic or fused polycyclic aromatic group or a divalent heterocyclic group which may have substituent, with proviso that Ar.sub.11 and Ar.sub.12 cannot both be phenylene groups which may have substituent;
- and n is 0 or 1.
