Abstract
Use of the novel compound tin diiododeuteroporphyrin and compositions containing it to inhibit heme mebabolism in mammals, to control the rate of tryptophan metabolism in mammals, and to increase the rate at which heme and iron are excreted by mammals.
Claims9
A method of increasing the rate at which heme is excreted by a mammal in need of such increased disposal of heme, which comprises parenteral administration of an amount of the tin diiododeuteroporphyrin which is sufficient to effect such increase.
