Abstract
Thiazolidinedione derivatives of the formula: ##STR1## and pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof are novel compounds, which exhibit in mammals blood sugar- and lipid-lowering activity, and are of value as a therapeutic agent for treatment of diabetes and hyperlipemia.

A compound of the formula:
- ##STR15## or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof.
An antidiabetic composition which consists essentially of a compound of the formula:
- ##STR16## or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof, in association with a pharmacologically acceptable carrier, excipient or diluent.
