Abstract
An electrophotographic photosensitive member comprises a photosensitive layer containing an azo pigment selected from the general formulae (1) to (6).
Claims5
An electrophotographic photosensitive member comprising a photosensitive layer containing an azo pigment selected from the following general formulae (1) to (6):
- ##STR575## wherein Ar.sub.11 to Ar.sub.15 represent arylene groups, each of which may has a substituent;
- Ar.sub.21 represents a biphenylene group having a substituent, a biarylene group, a terphenylene group or a divalent condensed polycyclic aromatic ring group, each of the latter three of which may have a substituent;
- Ar.sub.31 is a divalent organic group containing a heterocyclic group which may have a substituent;
- Ar.sub.41 represents a divalent organic group containing at least one group selected from a phenylene group having a substituent (or an unsubstituted phenylene group when one of B.sub.1 and B.sub.2 is a halogen atom, a trifluoromethyl group, or an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, each of the latter three of which may have a substituent), another arylene group other than phenylene group which may have a substituent, a divalent condensed polycyclic group and a divalent heterocyclic group;
- Ar.sub.22 to Ar.sub.25, Ar.sub.33 to Ar.sub.35, Ar.sub.42 to Ar.sub.46, Ar.sub.51 to Ar.sub.56, and Ar.sub.61 to Ar.sub.66 represent divalent organic groups containing at least one group selected from arylene groups, divalent condensed aromatic ring groups, and divalent heterocyclic groups, each of which may have a substituent;
- A represents a coupler residue having a phenolic OH group;
- B.sub.1 and B.sub.2 each represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a trifluoromethyl group, a cyano group, an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, each of the latter three of which may have a substituent;
- X represents NR, O, S, SO2 or C.dbd.O;
- R represents a hydrogen atom, a nitroso group, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, an acyl group, or a heterocyclic group, each of the latter five of which may have a substituent.
