A vulcanizable epoxy group-containing elastomer composition comprising an elastomer containing epoxy groups, a polycarboxylic acid having at least 2 carboxyl groups in the molecule, and either a quaternary ammonium salt or a quaternary phosphonium salt.

A vulcanizable epoxy group-containing elastomer comprising an elastomer having epoxy groups obtained by copolymerizing from 0.1 to 3% by weight of an epoxy group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer with 97 to 99.9% by weight of at least one monomer having a copolymerizable terminal vinyl or vinylidene group, a polycarboxylic acid having at least 2 carboxyl groups in the molecule, a quaternary compound selected from the group consisting of quaternary ammonium salts and quaternary phosphonium salts, and a processing aid.
