Abstract
A high temperature oil containment boom cover blanket for conventional elongated cylindrical oil containment booms is disclosed. The cover blanket, when installed onto a conventional oil containment boom effectively converts the boom into a high temperature oil containment boom which allows for in situ burning of spilled oil during cleanup operations.

A high temperature oil containment boom cover blanket comprising, in laminar combination, a top layer of a polymer coated open mesh high temperature resistant refractory fabric, a middle layer of a high temperature resistant refractory fibrous batt and a bottom layer of a woven fabric, said cover blanket being unified by having at least said top layer and said bottom layer secured together along their longitudinal edges.
