Abstract
Diesters of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen or alkyl of from 1 to about 20 carbon atoms, and X and Y are alkyl, alkenyl or dienyl of from about 12 to about 18 carbon atoms, useful as low calorie synthetic oils suitable for consumption by mammals.
Claims11
A diester of the formula ##STR4## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be the same or different, are hydrogen or alkyl from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, with the proviso that at least one of the R groups, R.sub.1 or R.sub.2, is an alkyl of from 1 to 20 carbon atoms;
- X is an alkyl, alkenyl or dienyl radical from 12 to 18 carbon atoms, and Y is an alkenyl or dienyl radical of from 12 to 18 carbon atoms.
The compound hexadecyl dioleylmalonate.
The compound dihexadecyl dioleylmalonate.
A synthetic edible oil comprising one or more compounds of the formula ##STR5## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be the same or different, are hydrogen or alkyl of from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, X is an alkyl, alkenyl or dienyl radical of from 12 to 20 carbon atoms, and Y is an alkenyl or dienyl radical from 12 to 20 carbon atoms.
A synthetic edible oil comprising a mixture of hexadecyl dioleylmalonate and dihexadecyl dioleylmalonate.
