Abstract
A process for oligomerizing olefins in the liquid phase using a catalyst composition comprising a nickel-containing silicaceous crystalline molecular sieve catalyst and an hydrocarbyl-aluminum halide.
Claims15
A catalyst composition for promoting oligomerization of olefins, said composition comprising the components:
- (a) a nickel-containing silicaceous crystalline molecular sieve in the hydrogen form selected from the group consisting of ZSM-5, ZSM-11, crystalline admixtures of ZSM-5 and ZSM-11, silicalite, an organic silicate disclosed in Ser. No. Re. 29,948 and CZM or mixtures thereof;
- and
- (b) at least one hydrocarbyl aluminum halide;
- the molar ratio of the hydrocarbyl aluminum halide to the nickel being from 1:1 to 10:1.
