Abstract
A radioimmunoassay for the polypeptide thymic hormone thymosin .beta..sub.4 is described. The assay employs a radiolabelled Tyr-C13-thymosin .beta..sub.4 -analogue as probe and a thymosin .beta..sub.4 antibody.
Claims14
A polypeptide, Tyr-C13-Thymosin .beta..sub.4, having the following amino acid sequence:
- Tyr-Lys-Glu-Thr-Ile-Glu-Gln-Glu-Lys-Gln-Ala-Gly-Glu-Ser-COOH.
A radioactive tracer useful in assaying for thymosin .beta..sub.4 comprising a polypeptide selected from the group consisting of:
- (a) Tyr-C13-thymosin .beta..sub.4, having the following amino acid sequence:
- Tyr-Lys-Glu-Thr-Ile-Glu-Gln-Glu-Lys-Gln-Ala-Gly-Glu-Ser-COOH;
- (b) (Tyr.sup.1)-desacetyl thymosin .beta..sub.4 having the following amino acid sequence:
- ##STR4## and (c) (Tyr.sup.1)-thymosin .beta..sub.4 having the following amino acid sequence:
- ##STR5## said polypeptide being bound to or incorporating a radioisotope.
An immunogen comprising thymosin .beta..sub.4 having the following amino acid sequence:
- ##STR6## covalently bound to an immunological carrier material.
An antibody which selectively recognizes and binds the polypeptide thymosin .beta..sub.4.
The polypeptide (Tyr.sup.1)-desacetyl thymosin .beta..sub.4, having the following amino acid sequence:
- ##STR8##
The polypeptide (Tyr.sup.1)-thymosin .beta..sub.4, having the following amino acid sequence:
- ##STR9##
