Abstract
9-Thia ergot cyclic peptide alkaloids produced by fermentation or synthetic methods have interesting anti-parkinson and other pharmacological activities.
Claims15
A compound of formula I ##STR6## wherein R.sub.1 is (C.sub.1-4)alkyl,
- R.sub.2 is (C.sub.1-6)alkyl or benzyl,
- R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently are hydrogen or (C.sub.1-4)alkyl,
- R.sub.5 is hydrogen or bromine,
- R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are each hydrogen, or
- R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 together form a single bond, or
- R.sub.6 is methoxy and R.sub.7 is hydrogen, and
- R.sub.8 is hydrogen, methyl, or halogen of atomic number from 9 to 35,
- with the proviso that when R.sub.5 is bromine R.sub.7 is hydrogen, in free base form or in pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt form.
