Abstract
1,2-methylenedioxy quino-benoxazine derivatives having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.2 is a substituent and R.sub.1 is hydrogen or a carboxy protecting group. The compounds of the invention have antibacterial activity.
Claims9
A compound having the formula:
- ##STR7## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or a carboxy protecting group;
- R.sub.2 is one or more groups selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, nitro, methylenedioxy, carboxyl, cyano, C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl, halo-substituted C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl, hydroxy-substituted C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl, a group having the formula:
- --Y--R.sub.3
- wherein --Y-- is --O-- or --S-- and R.sub.3 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl, and an amine group having the formula:
- ##STR8## wherein R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are independently hydrogen or C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl;
- and, pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
