Abstract
A process is provided for conducting organic compound conversion over a catalyst comprising a crystalline zeolite which has been treated by reaction with a compound having a complex fluoroanion.
Claims20
A process for converting a feedstock comprising an alcohol, ether or mixture thereof to conversion products comprising hydrocarbons which comprises contacting said feedstock at conversion conditions with a catalyst comprising a zeolite composition prepared by a method comprising reacting a porous crystalline zeolite having an initial silica-to-alumina mole ratio greater than about 100 with a reagent having the formula:
- L.sub.(n-m) (MF.sub.n).sub.e
- wherein L is an organic or inorganic ionic moiety, (MF.sub.n) is a fluoroanion moiety comprising the element M, M is an element selected from the group consisting of elements from Groups VB, VIB, VIIB, VIII, IIIA, IVA and VA of the Periodic Table of the Elements and Rare Earth elements, n is the coordination number of M, m is the valence of M and e is the charge associated with L, said reaction of said zeolite with said reagent being conducted at a temperature of from about -70.degree. C. to about 80.degree. C. and a pressure of from about -0.8 psig to about 50 psig.
A process for converting a feedstock comprising an alcohol, ether or mixture thereof to conversion products comprising hydrocarbons which comprises contacting said feedstock at conversion conditions with a catalyst comprising a composition prepared by a method which comprises compositing a porous crystalline zeolite having an initial silica-to-alumina mole ratio greater than about 100 with a matrix material comprising alumina, and reacting said composite with a reagent having the formula:

C. to about 80.degree. C. and a pressure of from about -0.8 psig to about 50 psig.
A process for converting a feedstock comprising an alcohol, ether or mixture thereof to conversion products comprising hydrocarbons which comprises contacting said feedstock at conversion conditions with a catalyst comprising a zeolite composition prepared by a method comprising reacting a porous crystalline zeolite having an initial silica-to-alumina mole ratio greater than about 100 and the structure of zeolite ZSM-5 with a reagent having the formula:
