Abstract
A binder containing a phenolic resin; a polyisocyanate; a curing component, and a phosphorus halide and use thereof.
Claims21
A binder composition comprising in admixture a resin component, a hardener component, and a inorganic phosphorus halide, said resin component including a non-aqueous phenolic resin which comprises a condensation product of a phenol having the general formula:
- ##STR8## wherein A, B and C are hydrogen, hydrocarbon radicals, or halogen, wherein at least about 5 mole percent of said phenol is a nonyl phenol with an aldehyde having the general formula R'CHO wherein R' is a hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical of 1 to 8 carbon atoms;
- said hardener component comprising liquid polyisocyanate containing at least two isocyanate groups.
