Abstract
The (-)(-) diastereoisomers of the .alpha.-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl and .alpha.-ethynyl-3-phenoxybenzyl esters of 1-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-, 1-(4-chlorophenyl)-, and 1-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-2,2,3,3-tetrafluorocyclobutane carboxylic acid.

Compounds of the formula Ia ##STR3## characterised in that R.sup.1 is ethoxy or chloro, and R.sup.2 is hydrogen;
- or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together form a methylenedioxy group;
- R.sup.3 is ##STR4## and the compounds are in the form of the (-)(-) diastereoisomers.
(-)(-)-.alpha.-cyano-3'-phenoxybenzyl 1-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-2,2,3,3-tetrafluorocyclobutane carboxylate.
(-)(-)-.alpha.-ethynyl-3'-phenoxybenzyl 1-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-2,2,3,3-tetrafluorocyclobutane carboxylate.
