Abstract
Novel 4-substituted amino-3-[3-alkylindoloamino-2-hydroxypropoxy] thiadiazole compounds and methods for their preparation are disclosed. These compounds and their salts exhibit pharmacological activity including antihypertensive and .beta.-adrenergic blocking activity.
Claims8
A compound having the formula:
- ##STR17## wherein:
- R is hydrogen;
- ##STR18## wherein R.sub.a is C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl;
- C.sub.6.sbsb.3 or C.sub.10 aryl;
- R.sup.1 is ##STR19## wherein:
- R.sup.2 is
- hydrogen;
- halo (F, Br, Cl);
- hydroxy;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl;
- C.sub.1-C.sub.8 alkoxy;
- R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are independently hydrogen;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl;
- R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are independently
- lower alkyl of C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 ;
- or R.sup.5 and R.sup.6, together with the Natom, can be joined to form a 5- or 6-membered ring wherein the 6-membered ring can contain an O, S, N--H, or N-lower (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6) alkyl heteroatom;
- and,
- the pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
