Abstract
9-(cyclohexenyl or phenyl)-4,7-dimethyl-2,4,6,8-nonatetraenoic acid derivatives as well as 7-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,5,8,8,-tetramethyl-2-naphthyl)-4-methyl-2,4,6-octa trienoic acid derivatives useful for the treatment of neoplasms, premalignant lesions, acne, psoriasis and rheumatic diseases of an inflammatory or degenerative kind.
Claims19
A composition of matter selected from the group consisting of compounds of the formula:
- ##STR9## where R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of ##STR10## R.sup.2 is hydroxy, lower alkoxy, amino, mono(lower alkyl)amino, or di(lower alkyl)amino;
- R.sup.3 is lower alkyl or halogen, R.sup.4 is lower alkyl;
- R.sup.5 is lower alkoxy;
- R.sup.6 is hydrogen or lower alkyl and R.sup.7 is lower alkyl or halogen
- and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof when R.sup.2 is hydroxy.
