Abstract
The present invention provides novel derivatives of leukotrienes A and C which are useful in inhibiting the smooth muscle contracting effects of SRS-A; inhibiting platelet aggregation; and inhibiting the biosynthesis of thromboxane A.sub.2.

A compound of the formula II
- wherein A.sub.1 is
- (1) --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --, or
- (2) trans--CH.dbd.CH--;
- wherein R.sub.1 is
- (1) hydrogen,
- (2) C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl, or
- (3) a pharmacologically acceptable cation;
- wherein one of X.sub.1 and Y.sub.1 is hydroxy and the other is
- (1) --S--C.sub.6 H.sub.5, or
- (2) --SeC.sub.6 H.sub.5 ;
- wherein m is an integer from 3 to 7, inclusive;
- and
- wherein n is an integer from 7 to 13, inclusive.
