Fungicidal imidazoles and triazoles containing silicon

A compound of the formula:

• ##STR71## wherein R.sub.1 is H, --CR.sub.5 .dbd.CHR.sub.6, --CH.sub.2 CR.sub.4 .dbd.C(R.sub.4).sub.2, --C.tbd.CR.sub.7 or OSi(CH.sub.3).sub.3 ;
• R.sub.2 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, vinyl or ##STR72## R.sub.3 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, ##STR73## or OR.sub.10 ;
• R.sub.4 is independently H or CH.sub.3 ;
• R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are independently H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl or ##STR74## R.sub.7 is H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or ##STR75## R.sub.8 is H, Cl, F, Br or phenyl;
• R.sub.9 is H, Cl, F or Br;
• R.sub.10 is H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or ##STR76## and A is CH or N;
• with the provisos that if R.sub.3 is OR.sub.10, then R.sub.1 may not be H or --OSi(CH.sub.3).sub.3 ;
• if R.sub.7 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or phenyl, then R.sub.2 may not be C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl or vinyl;
• and
• when A is CH, then at least one of R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is ##STR77## and at least one of R.sub.8 and R.sub.9 is other than H;
• and fungicidally active protic acid salts or metal complexes of said compound.
