Abstract
The invention relates to mixtures essentially composed of a polyoxymethylene, a polyurethane and a filler, the polyurethane having a Shore hardness A of not more than 90 and the filler having an average particle size less than 10 .mu.m. The shaped articles produced from the mixture according to the invention are distinguished, above all, by improved notched impact strength.
Claims10
A mixture consisting essentially of a polyoxymethylene, a polyurethane and a filler, wherein the polyurethane has a Shore hardness A of not more than 90 and the filler has an average particle size less than 10 .mu.m, and wherein the composition of the mixture is given by the equations ##EQU2## in which the symbols have the following meaning:
- P.sub.1 =% by weight of polyoxymethylene
- P.sub.2 =% by weight of polyurethane
- P.sub.3 =% by weight of filler .rho..sub.1 =density of the polyoxymetnylene in g.cm.sup.-3 .rho..sub.2 =density of the polyurethane in g.cm.sup.-3
- .rho..sub. = density of the filler material in g.cm.sup.-3
- a=a numerical value between 0 and 0.4,
- b=a numerical value between 0.03 and 0.55, and
- P.sub.3 is at least 0.5.
