Abstract
An oxygen absorbent composition mounted on a suitable carrier and adapted to be mounted in a closeable container for removing oxygen from the space within the container. The composition comprises iron particles and yeast, mixed together with some moisture.

An oxygen absorbing composition mounted on a carrier for carrying the composition and said carrier being capable of being placed in a closable container for removing oxygen from the space within the container, said oxygen absorbing composition comprising iron particles and yeast mixed together with moisture in an amount sufficient to dampen the composition.
