Abstract
Nitrous oxide is removed from gases containing hydrogen, nitric oxide and nitrous oxide by a process in which the gases are treated with molecular sieves.
Claims9
A process for preparing hydroxylammonium salts comprising the steps of treating a gas containing hydrogen, nitric oxide and nitrous oxide with molecular sieves to remove nitrous oxide therefrom, and then catalytically reducing the nitric oxide with hydrogen in the treated gas in the presence of a strong mineral acid to form hydroxylammonium salts.
