Abstract
Detergent surfactant combinations comprising alkylpolyglycoside detergent surfactants and nonionic detergent surfactants provide good detergency and are compatible with anionic optical brighteners, both in built and unbuilt detergent compositions.
Claims9
A detergent composition comprising:
- (A) from about 1% to about 90% of an alkylpolysaccharide detergent surfactant of the formula RO(R'O).sub.y (Z).sub.x where R is an alkyl, hydroxy alkyl, alkyl phenyl, hydroxy alkyl phenyl, alkyl benzyl, or mixtures thereof, said alkyl groups containing from about 8 to about 18 carbon atoms;
- where each R' contains from 2 to about 4 carbon atoms and y is from 0 to about 12;
- and where each Z is a moiety derived from a reducing saccharide selected from the group consisting of glucose, galactose and mixtures thereof, and x is a number from about 11/2 to about 3;
- (B) from about 1% to about 90% of a nonionic detergent surfactant;
- (C) from 0% to about 90% of a detergency builder, the ratio of (A) to (B) being from about 1:1 to about 10:1, and
- (D) from about 0.01% to about 2% of an anionic optical brightener.
