Abstract
Phosphonous acid monoester-monoamides of the formula ##STR1## in which the symbols R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and n are as defined in claim 1, are suitable for protecting organic material from the harmful effect of heat, oxygen and light.

A compound of formula I ##STR22## in which n is 1, R.sub.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl or phenyl, R.sub.2 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, R.sub.3 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, R.sub.4 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 being independent of one another and representing C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl or cyclohexyl.
