Abstract
An aqueous composition for inhibiting the corrosion of metals is described. The composition comprises a non-oxidizing acid, and, as a corrosion inhibitor, an effective amount of a 3-dialkylamino-3-(1-ethylpentyl)prop-1-yne.
Claims18
An aqueous composition for inhibiting the corrosion of metals placed therein comprising:
- (a) an effective amount of a corrosion-inhibiting compound having the formula:
- ##STR5## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.6, or phenyl;
- and
- (b) a non-oxidizing acid.
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR6## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 or phenyl.
A corrosion inhibitor for aqueous solutions of mineral acids consisting essentially of the reaction product obtained by the catalytic ethynylation of a secondary amine R.sub.1 R.sub.2 NH, where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 or phenyl, and 2-ethylhexanal, with acetylene.
