Abstract
A glassware forming apparatus including at least one split below mold moveable between an open and closed position. At least one bottom plate is mounted on the machine for movement into and out of engagement with the blow mold. The means for moving the bottom plate is separate from the means for moving the blow mold. Additionally, a mechanism is provided for moving the bottom plate toward the blow mold along a path in which the bottom plate first pivots about a fixed pivot point and then moves along a straight line coaxial with the axis of the blow mold.
Claims7
In a glassware forming apparatus, at least one split blow mold mounted on said machine for movement between its open and closed position, at least one bottom plate mounted on said machine for movement into and out of engagement with said blow mold, blow mold moving means for moving said blow mold between its open and closed position, and bottom plate moving means for moving said bottom plate into and out of engagement with said blow mold, said blow mold moving means being independently operable from said bottom plate moving means.
In a glassware forming apparatus, at least one blow mold and at least one bottom plate, said bottom plate being movable into and out of engagement with the bottom surface of said blow mold to close the bottom of the blow mold, and means for moving said bottom plate toward said blow mold along a path in which said bottom plate first pivots about a fixed pivot point and then moves along a straight line coaxial with the axis of the blow mold into engagement with said blow mold.
