Abstract
A radioactive .sup.57 Co source consists of the intermetallic composition CoSb.sub.3 which emits an energetically non-disintegrated 14.4 KeV line. This composition is strictly stoichiometrical and may be dissolved in excess Sb. The atom percent proportion of .sup.57 Co may be up to 25%.
Claims5
A process for preparing a radioactive .sup.57 Co source comprising contacting .sup.57 CoCl.sub.2 with Sb, reducing said .sup.57 CoCl.sub.2, and melting said Sb to form an alloy containing said composition .sup.57 CoSb.sub.3.
