Abstract
A color cathode ray tube comprises a fluorescent screen having one or more phosphors on an inner surface of a face glass for plural emission colors, and the face glass which contains a Nd.sub.2 O.sub.3 and other colorants to give a wavelength selectivity of light transmission of said face glass.

In a color cathode ray tube comprising a fluorescent screen having at least one phosphor on an inner surface of the face glass for plural color emission, the improvement comprising:
- incorporating 0.3 to 1.5 wt% per 10 mm glass thickness, of Nd.sub.2 O.sub.3 and a small amount of the colorant Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 and optionally other colorants in said face glass to impart wavelength selectivity to said face glass.
