Abstract
A novel epoxy resin curing agent comprises a polyoxyalkylenediamine biguanide salt. This novel group of compounds has an extended pot life and good adhesive properties.
Claims6
An epoxy resin composition comprising:
- a vicinal polyepoxide having an average of at least 1.8 reactive 1,2-epoxy groups per molecule, and an effective amount of a curing agent consisting of a polyoxyalkylenediamine biguanide salt of the formula:
- ##STR4## wherein C is carbon, N is nitrogen, H is hydrogen, n is an integer of from 1 to 3, A is an anion selected from the group consisting of chloride, bromide, sulfate and phosphate and R is a radical selected from the group consisting of:
- --CH(CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2 (OCH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3)).sub.x -- and
- --[CH(CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2 O].sub.y (CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.z [CH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3)O].sub.y-1 CH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3))--
- wherein x is an integer of from 5 to 45, y is an integer of 1 to 5, and z is an integer of from 5 to 50.
