## Abstract

Compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein at least one of the groups contains a 4-piperidinyl moiety are disclosed as light stabilizers for polymers.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A compound of the formula (I) ##STR14## wherein R represents C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenyloxy, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenylamino, or di(C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenyl)amino; R.sup.1 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkoxy, halo, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkylthio, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenyloxy, amino, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenylamino, di(C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenyl)amino, ##STR15## wherein R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, and R.sup.6 are as defined below, C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkylamino, C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 dialkylamino, morpholino, piperidino, pyrrolidyl, a substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkylamino, or a substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 dialkylamino, wherein the substituents are selected from amino, cyano, carboxy, alkoxycarbonyl wherein the alkoxy moiety has 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and the groups ##STR16## wherein R.sup.2 represents hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, or benzyl; R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 independently represent C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, benzyl, or phenethyl, or together with the carbon to which they are attached from a C.sub.5 -C.sub.10 cycloalkyl; and R.sup.5 represents hydrogen, C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 hydroxyalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, hydroxyl, or oxyl; R.sup.6 represents hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, or ##STR17## wherein R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, and R.sup.5 are as previously defined; Y and Y.sup.1, which may be the same, or different, represent oxy, or ##STR18## wherein R.sup.6 is as previously defined; X represents C.sub.2 -C.sub.12 alkylene, wherein the alkylene chain may be interrupted by an oxy, thio, or ##STR19## radical, C.sub.5 -C.sub.10 cycloalkylene, ##STR20## C.sub.6 -C.sub.12 arylene, or C.sub.8 -C.sub.14 aralkylene; with the proviso that when Y and Y' are oxy, or R.sup.6 is hydrogen, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, at least one R.sup.1 is, or contains ##STR21## and with the further proviso that R and R.sup.1 are not allyloxy at the same time.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The compound of claim 1 wherein Y and Y.sup.1 are each ##STR22##
