## Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of treating osteoporosis by administering to a host suffering from osteoporosis an effective amount of 24,24-difluoro-1.alpha.,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for the treatment of osteoporosis which comprises administering to a host suffering from osteoporosis an effective amount of 24,24-difluoro-1.alpha.,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1 wherein said effective amount of 24,24-difluoro-1.alpha.,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol is in the range of about 50 to 200 nanograms per day.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1 wherein said effective amount of 24,24-difluoro-1.alpha.,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol is about 100 nanograms per day.
