## CPC

- C08G 69/40: Polyamides containing oxygen in the form of ether groups (C08G69/12, C08G69/32 take precedence)
- C08G: MACROMOLECULAR COMPOUNDS OBTAINED OTHERWISE THAN BY REACTIONS ONLY INVOLVING UNSATURATED CARBON-TO-CARBON BONDS

## Abstract

Novel polyamides and copolyamides are prepared from 1,2-di(p-aminophenoxy) ethane and diacids or mixtures of 1,2-di(p-aminophenoxy) ethane and other diamines and diacids. These polyamides and copolyamides are useful as molded objects, fiber, films, laminate and coating.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A polyamide comprising the following recurring structure: ##STR5## wherein R is a divalent aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon radical or an aromatic hydrocarbon radical containing from 6 to 10 carbon atoms joined directly or by a stable linkage selected from the group consisting of --O--, methylene ##STR6## --SO--, --SO.sub.2 -- and S radicals.
