Abstract
Waste paper containing encapsulated constituents such as inks is bleached by pulping it in the presence of an aqueous alkaline solution which contains a peroxide compound such as hydrogen peroxide.

Process for the regeneration of waste paper containing encapsulated color constituents, which comprises pulping the waste paper in the presence of an aqueous alkaline solution which contains a peroxide compound to form a pulp, and washing the pulp at least once after pulping the waste paper.
