Abstract
1,3-Dihydro-2H-imidazol-2-ones having 5-acyl and 4-(substituted amino)methyl substituents, are useful as cardiotonics, antihypertensives and antithrombotic agents. The compounds are obtained by the reaction of an appropriate amine with a substituted 4-bromomethyl-1,3-dihydro-2H-imidazol-2-one.
Claims10
A compound of the formula ##STR7## wherein R is hydrogen, lower alkyl of 1-4 C, lower alkanoyl of 2-4 C, or benzoyl;
- R.sup.1 is lower alkyl of 1-4 C, phenyl, halophenyl, methylphenyl, methoxyphenyl, methylsulfonylphenyl, dimethylaminophenyl, dimethoxyphenyl, 3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl, 2-furyl, 2-thienyl or pyridyl;
- R.sup.2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl of 1-4 C;
- and --NR.sup.3 R.sup.4 is (lower alkyl).sub.2 amino, 1-pyrrolidinyl, 1-piperidinyl, 4-morpholinyl, ##STR8## wherein R.sup.6 is lower alkyl of 1-4 C, phenyl, halophenyl, methylphenyl, methoxyphenyl or trifluoromethylphenyl;
- and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts and the lower alkyl quarternary ammonium salts of the aforesaid compounds.
