Abstract
Compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are equal or different aliphatic radicals, if desired, branched, and R.sub.3 stands for H or CH.sub.3. The invention also relates to a process for making these compounds and their use as fragrant and flavoring products.

A compound selected from the group consisting 2,4-dimethyl-2,6-heptadienal;
- 2,4-diethyl-2,6-heptadienal;
- 2,4-di-n-propyl-2,6-heptadienal;
- 2,4-di-iso-propyl-2,6-heptadienal;
- 2,4-dimethyl-2,6-heptadienol;
- and 2,4-diethyl-heptanol.
