A pharmaceutical composition in dosage unit form, which comprises a dosage amount effective for the treatment of hypertension of a compound represented by the formula:
- ##STR3## wherein R.sup.1 denotes the residual group formed by removing from mannose the OH at the 1-position thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a carrier or diluent therefor.
