Abstract
An electrochemical cell construction features a novel co-extruded plastic electrode in an interleaved construction with a novel integral separator-spacer. Also featured is a leak and impact resistant construction for preventing the spill of corrosive materials in the event of rupture.
Claims25
An extruded sheet electrode for use in an electrochemical cell comprising a sheet composite of coextruded electrically conductive and non-conductive plastic materials, said conductive plastic material comprising a mid-portion of said sheet, and said non-conductive plastic material comprising coextruded side portions of said sheet.
An extruded sheet electrode for use in an electrochemical cell comprising a sheet composite of coextruded electrically conductive and non-conductive materials, said conductive material plastic (non-conductive) comprising a mid-portion of said sheet, and said non-conductive material comprising insulative coextruded side portions of said sheet.
