Abstract
Compounds having the formula ##STR1## and salts thereof, wherein R.sub.1 is a readily hydrolyzable acyl protecting group; R.sub.2 is hydrogen or alkyl; R.sub.3 is hydrogen, alkyl or arylalkyl; n is 1 or 2; and p is 1 or 2 inhibit the action of angiotensin converting enzyme.

A compound having the formula ##STR5## and salts thereof, wherein R.sub.1 is alkanoyl or arylcarbonyl;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen or alkyl;
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen, alkyl or arylalkyl;
- n is 1 or 2;

- p is 1 or 2.
