Abstract
Dibromostyrene is stabilized against unwanted polymerization by incorporating therein a stabilizing amount of a phenylene diamine such as N,N,N',N'-tetramethylphenylene-p-diamine or N,N'-diethylphenylene-p-diamine.

As a composition of matter, dibromostyrene containing a stabilizer amount of a polymerization inhibitor compound having the formula ##STR5## wherein each R is alike or different and is selected from the class consisting of hydrogen and lower alkyl groups of up to about five carbon atoms.
