Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for producing aclacinomycins A and B. More particularly, the present invention is concerned with a process for producing selectively aclacinomycins A and B in high yield without formation of cinerubins A and B, by means of a fermentation process, utilizing Streptomyces galilaeus OBB-731.
Claims5
A process for producing aclacinomycins A and B which comprises cultivating Streptomyces galilaeus OBB-731 (FERM-P No. 5402;
- ATCC 31615) under aerobic condition in an aqueous medium and recovering aclacinomycins A and B from the fermentation broth.
A biologically pure culture of the microorganism Streptomyces galilaeus OBB-731 having the identifying characteristics of ATCC 31615, said culture being capable of producing aclacinomycins A and B in a recoverable quantity upon fermentation in an aqueous nutrient medium containing assimilable sources of carbon, nitrogen and inorganic substances.
