Norbornyl alkyl ethers

A product comprising a composition of matter produced according to a process of intimately admixing ethylidene norbornene compound defined according to the structure:

• ##STR67## with an alcohol defined according to the structures:
• R--OH
• in the presence of a mineral acid catalyst or a Lewis acid catalyst and in the presence of an inert solvent or in the present of an excess of the alcohol reactant, the reaction temperature varying from about 25.degree. C. up to 120.degree. C., the mole ratio of catalyst to ethylidene norbornene having the structure:
• ##STR68## varying from about 1:99 up to about 1:10;
• the mole ratio of ethylidene norbornene reaction to ROH alcohol reactant varying from about 1:1 up to about 1:2, the moiety R being isopropyl.
