Abstract
An electrical resistant alloy for use in a sensing coil having a small temperature dependence of electric resistance over a wide temperature range and a method of producing the same are disclosed. This alloy consists of 55.5 to 60.6 wt % of palladium and 44.5 to 39.4 wt % of silver and an inevitable amount of impurities, and has a temperature coefficient of electric resistance of .+-.20.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C. over a temperature range of -50.degree. C. to +730.degree. C.
Claims3
A method of producing electrical resistant alloys comprising, the step of melting a starting material consisting essentially of 55.5 to 60.6 wt% of palladium and 44.5 to 39.4 wt% of silver, pouring the melt into a mold and shaping it into a desired form of wire or thin sheet by hot working and cold working, heating the shaped article at a recrystallization temperature of 500.degree. to 1,100.degree. C. in air or a nonoxidizing atmosphere or in vacuo for a time of not less than 2 seconds to not more than 100 hours, and slow cooling it to remove internal stress to thereby obtain an alloy having a temperature coefficient of electric resistance of .+-.20.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C. over a temperature range of -50.degree. C. to +730.degree. C.

C. in air or a non-oxidizing atmosphere or in vacuo for a time of not less than 2 seconds to not more than 100 hours, slow cooling it to remove internal stress, applying or coating an insulative material on the surface of the article by an electrodeposition, vapor deposition or sputtering process, winding the coated article into a desired form, and again heating the article at a temperature of 200.degree. to 500.degree. C. for a short time to remove internal stress to thereby obtain an electrical resistant material having a temperature coefficient of electric resistant material having a temperature coefficient of electric resistance of .+-.20.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C. over a temperature range of -50.degree. C. to +730.degree. C.
