Claims4
2-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-4,5-disubstituted thiazole represented by the formula:
- ##STR20## wherein R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group of C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 and R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group of C.sub.1 to C.sub.3, an acetyl group, a carboxyl group of ester group thereof with an alcohol of C.sub.1 to C.sub.3, a carbamoyl group or a hydrazinocarbonyl group, and wherein the carbonyl group of said acetyl group may also be converted to oxime, oxime-acetate, semicarbazide or guanylhydrazone.
A pharmaceutical composition for treating peptic ulcer in dosage unit form, which comprises an effective amount of a compound of 2-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-4,5-disubstituted thiazole represented by the formula:
- ##STR22## wherein R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group of C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 and
- R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group of C.sub.1 to C.sub.3, an acetyl group, a carboxyl group or an ester group thereof with an alcohol of C.sub.1 to C.sub.3, a carbamoyl group or a hydrazinocarbonyl group, with the proviso that both R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 do not represent simultaneously hydrogen atoms, and wherein the carbonyl group of said acetyl group may also be converted to oxime, oxime-acetate, semicarbazide or guanylhydrazone;
- and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient.
