Abstract
Certain substituted aralkylanilines in which the aromatic aniline ring carries, at the para position to the amino function, a substituent which comprises a carboxylic acid, salt or ester, an alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, cyano or acyl group, have hypolipidaemic activity.
Claims2
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR11## wherein R.sup.1 is C.sub.1-10 hydroxyalkyl;
- q is zero or an integer from 1-12;
- Alk is a straight or branched chain alkylene group;
- x is zero or one;
- R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are the same or different and each is hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1-8 alkyl or C.sub.1-8 alkoxy;
- and R.sup.4 is halogen in the 4-position.

- ##STR12## wherein R.sup.1 is C.sub.1-10 hydroxyalkyl;
- q is zero or an integer from 1-12;
- Alk is a straight or branched chain alkylene group;
- x is zero or one;
- R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are the same or different and each is hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1-8 alkyl or C.sub.1-8 alkoxy;
- and R.sup.4 is chlorine in the 4-position.
