Abstract
The invention is directed to 3-oxo-D-homosteroids and derivatives thereof which are useful as antiantigens.
Claims34
D-homosteroids of the formula ##STR8## wherein R.sup.4 is hydrogen, methyl, chlorine or hydroxy;
- R.sup.6 is hydrogen or methylene;
- R.sup.17a.alpha. is hydrogen, methyl or chlorine and R.sup.17a.beta. is carboxy, esterified carboxy, cyano, formyl, carbamoyl, mono(lower alkyl)carbamoyl or di(lower alkyl)carbamoyl;
- or R.sup.17a.alpha. and R.sup.17a.beta. together are a spiroether ring of the formula ##STR9## and wherein the dotted bonds in the D-ring are an optional 16(17)- or 17(17a)-double bond.
