Abstract
Unsaturated polyesters modified with a norbornene functional compound, such as dicyclopentadiene, and containing a phosphonate group cure into fire retardant plastics.
Claims24
A curable unsaturated polyester resin of an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated polycarboxylic acid, anhydride or mixture thereof and a polyol or mixture of polyols, said polyester having pendant unsaturation and having at least one end terminated by an alkoxyalkyl phosphonate.
