Abstract
The invention discloses certain 1-phenyl-pyrazole derivatives having pharmacological activity in animals and useful as glucagon inhibiting agents. Nearly all of the compounds of this invention are prepared by cyclization of a phenyl hydrazine compound with a 1,1,3,3-tetra-C.sub.1-4 -alkoxy-propane compound.
Claims10
A method of lowering the glucagon level in plasma comprising administering to a mammal in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula I:
- ##STR7## wherein R.sub.o is methyl, trifluoromethyl or amino, and
- n is 1 or 2,
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, with the proviso that when n is 2, R.sub.o is methyl, one methyl group being in the 2-position of the phenyl ring and the other methyl group being in the 3- or 4-position of the phenyl ring.
