Abstract
The compounds of this invention are 2-(2-guanidino-4-thiazolyl alkylamino)-3-nitropyrroles which have histamine H.sub.2 -antagonist activity.
Claims12
A compound of formula ##STR7## or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, where Z is sulphur or methylene and R.sup.1 is hydrogen;
- C.sub.1-4 alkyl;
- optionally substituted phenyl or phenyl (C.sub.1-4 alkyl), (the substituents being one or more C.sub.1-4 alkyl or C.sub.1-4 alkoxy groups or halogen atoms or a methylenedioxy group);
- or optionally substituted furanyl- or thienyl- or pyridyl-(C.sub.1-4 alkyl) (the substituents being one or more C.sub.1-4 alkyl or C.sub.1-4 alkoxy groups);
- and R.sup.2 is hydrogen;
- C.sub.1-4 alkyl or benzyl.
