Abstract
There are provided novel urea derivatives of the general formula ##STR1## wherein X, n, A and R are defined in the description; processes for preparing the derivatives and herbicidal composition containing as active ingredient the derivative. The derivatives have highly selective herbicidal activities.

A compound represented by the formula ##STR129## wherein X is a halogen, an alkyl or trifluoromethyl, n is an integer of from 0 to 3, provided that when n is 2 or 3, X may be different to each other;
- A is ##STR130## or --C.tbd.C--, wherein ##STR131## is in trans form;
- and R is methyl or methoxy.
A highly selective herbicidal composition comprising a carrier and a herbicidally effective amount of a compound represented by the formula ##STR140## wherein X is a halogen, an alkyl or trifluoromethyl, n is an integer of from 0 to 3, provided that when n is 2 or 3, X may be different to each other;
- and A is ##STR141## or --C.tbd.C--, wherein ##STR142## is in trans form.
